An integration platform had been built by a third-party using MuleSoft’s Mule ESB product. This was delivered primarily for the integration of data to and from a new Hybris-based website, also delivered by the same 3rd party. As such, the integrations were tightly coupled between the two systems which prevented ease of change.
W3Partnership was asked to initially architect a replacement platform on which the existing integration services could be migrated and new services instantiated. In agreement with the CTO, the design outlined in this bid, and packaged as the W3 Smarter Integration Platform, was built.
As well as re-engineering the integration platform, the messaging product ActiveMQ was replaced with IBM MQ.This integration platform, named EIS, has now reached maturity and currently hosts over 60 services. It is regarded as enterprise-worthy and all integrations within the organisation will be carried out via EIS. New services can be instantiated within a matter of days, rather than weeks.
W3Partnership personnel have been instrumental in the design, delivery and maintenance of EIS.
